Following extensive damage to its original facility, the center was forced to relocate to a smaller temporary location, creating additional challenges in maintaining essential services.

Through LIFE’s humanitarian efforts, children received personal hygiene products, school supplies, and educational materials to help support their continued learning and well-being. The initiative also provided food assistance to help the center maintain its daily meal program, ensuring children continued to have access to essential nutrition during an especially challenging time.

Beyond meeting immediate physical needs, the relief effort emphasized the importance of emotional well-being and stability for children affected by the disaster. Recreational activities, including arts and crafts, painting, and games, offered opportunities for children to reconnect with their peers, express themselves creatively, and experience moments of joy amid the uncertainty surrounding their communities.

In addition to emergency supplies, LIFE provided targeted assistance to individuals and households facing unique hardships following the earthquake. Support included access to necessary medications, relocation assistance, mobility equipment, and materials for basic home repairs.

For families whose livelihoods were disrupted by the disaster, this assistance offered critical support during a period of financial uncertainty. One beneficiary, María Alfonso, experienced significant hardship after her family lost a small restaurant that had provided a substantial portion of their household income. With family members requiring ongoing medical care, securing medication and basic necessities became an urgent concern.

Other beneficiaries included individuals with limited mobility whose circumstances became increasingly difficult following the earthquake. Through the distribution of wheelchairs and emergency household supplies, LIFE helped improve accessibility, restore independence, and alleviate some of the burdens facing vulnerable families.

The initiative also supported households whose homes sustained earthquake-related damage by providing construction materials for essential repairs, helping families take meaningful steps toward restoring safer and more stable living conditions.
