SARASOTA, Fla., Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Rafferty Domnick Cunningham & Yaffa (RDCY) is pleased to announce that shareholder Fred Cunningham will serve as co-chair and lecturer for the 2026 Insurance & Bad Faith Seminar at the Florida Justice Association’s (FJA) 2026 Masters of Justice Convention on Thursday, September 24, at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota.
Cunningham will co-chair the seminar from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. and will lead a presentation titled, “Handling Claims Under HB 837: What We Know After 3 ½ Years” The program will examine the practical impact of Florida’s sweeping tort reform legislation, House Bill 837, which took effect in March 2023, and what attorneys have learned from litigating insurance and bad-faith claims in the years since its enactment.
As a longtime advocate for policyholders and injured Floridians, Cunningham will draw on his experience handling complex insurance disputes and bad-faith litigation to discuss how HB 837 has affected claims handling, litigation strategy and the legal landscape for insurance disputes in Florida.
The session will address developments attorneys should understand when evaluating claims under the current statutory framework, including lessons emerging from more than three years of practice under HB 837.
